AKA should consult Prophet Mboro

Twitter has come up with a number of theories explaining why AKA has not been winning awards lately.

While everyone on Twitter took the time to congratulate DJ Black Coffee on his BET Award win, some used their data to shade AKA for losing, using the #AKAwinanga hashtag. People say they are happy it was Coffee who won because, had it been AKA, he would shaded Cassper Nyovest and Black Coffee for the entire week.

AKA makes sure you know when something good happens to him, but he also lets his fans know when something bad happens to Cassper. Remember when he tweeted “Dololo” after the Sama nominees list was released and Cassper’s name was nowhere to be found? It turned out the Mama I Made It hitmaker had not submitted his music for nomination. Perhaps this is why the Cassper camp started the #AKAwinanga hashtag, returning the favour to AKA for shading Cassper.

The beef with Black Coffee started last year when Coffee shared his opinion on hip hop music, saying being arrogant has nothing to do with music, telling fans to remain humble when they become successful. AKA could not hold back, and he fired shots, telling his camp he was not going to let Coffee “piss” on SA hip hop. He further told Coffee to stay in his lane.

But what happens when the hip hop and House music lane collide and are nominated in the same category?

It was like something we couldn’t have scripted any better if we’d tried.

This time, the House music lane won. One Twitter user told AKA it was not okay for him to not show love to Black Coffee for his achievement, to which he responded: “Dude, I’m showing love. He’s already a living legend You just want me to pretend that we get along.”

Twitter, however, came up with a few theories explaining why AKA has not been winning awards lately. Someone tweeted that AKA should swallow his pride and consult Prophet Mboro, while one said “Zinhle must give us contacts of her sangoma, he/she is very strong. #AKAwinanga futhi.”

Here are some of those amusing social media theories and comments:
