With each passing season, the market value of a professional club can either decrease, increase or stay the same based on their league positions, players on their books and cup runs. So what are the values of the 16 PSL clubs for new season?

After taking a look at Transfermarkt, I have drawn up a table of what they value the clubs at, and it includes new arrivals in Golden Arrows and Jomo Cosmos.

Mamelodi Sundowns
Total Market Value: R154.7 million

Kaizer Chiefs
Total Market Value: R123.5 million

SuperSport United
Total Market Value: R107.64 million

Bidvest Wits
Total Market Value: R100.1 million

Orlando Pirates
Total Market Value: R93.34 million

Platinum Stars
Total Market Value: R75.4 million

Mpumalanga Black Aces
Total Market Value: R72.54 million

Bloemfontein Celtic
Total Market Value: R63.44 million

Ajax Cape Town
Total Market Value: R54.34 million

Chippa United
Total Market Value: R52.39 million

University of Pretoria
Total Market Value: R48.1 million

Polokwane City
Total Market Value: R47.45 million

Maritzburg United
Total Market Value: R43.29 million

Free State Stars
Total Market Value: R38.09 million

Golden Arrows
Total Market Value: R27.3 million

Jomo Cosmos
Total Market Value: R21.19 million

Interesting to see how Pirates are sitting in fifth place after their disappointing league positions in the last two years. If they manage to rake in more cups and sign big players, I am sure their value will go up.

Unsurprisingly, Chiefs and Sundowns dominate at the top of the table, while the newly promoted Arrows and Cosmos are at the bottom. They will need to stay up next year to see their values increase. Richest soccer club South Africa

Going through the list above, i couldn’t help it but feel more proudly African. having an African owing a team in the English Premier League, thats bold and encouraging. but what is more of a highlight on the list, it is Irvin Khoza’s story to owning Orlando Pirates F.C. Coming to think that it only took him ten years to own the club, thats one story to tell future generations to come and took of a success the club has had. Also a special mention to my honorable Chairman, Kaizer Motaung, we great for arguable the biggest club in Africa, (Africa’s Man-U). Salute to all the above listed.
