Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala need prayers

Kaizer Chiefs  Siphiwe Tshabalala underwent surgery on his troublesome knee earlier this month.

Chiefs have already ruled Tshabalala out of the Carling Black Label Champion Cup against Orlando Pirates on July 30,

The surgery necessitates at least three weeks on the sidelines and that is why Chiefs are not going to risk him in the match against Pirates at Soccer City.

It will also hinder Tshabalala in his pre-season preparations and call into question his readiness for the new season as he misses vital weeks on the training pitch.

The 31-year-old also missed a couple of games last season with knee problems but started 28 of the club’s 30 league matches, plus another nine in the cup.

Chiefs midfielders Siphiwe Tshabalala, Keagan Buchanan nursing injuries

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed their captain Siphiwe Tshabalala and new signing Keagan Buchanan are nursing injuries.

Amakhosi unveiled Buchanan as one of eight recruits last month.

However, the former Bloemfontein Celtic man has been out since January with a knee problem, having also missed most of 2014/15 with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Chiefs have announced fellow midfielder Tshabalala is likewise on the sidelines.

The Glamour Boys said on Twitter: “Player Injuries: Captain Siphiwe Tshabalala and Keagan Buchanan are both recovering from their respective injuries. Speedy recovery #K4L.”

Steve Komphela and his charges have regrouped for pre-season training.
