Brylon Petersen is currently on trial with Kaizer Chiefs in hope of reaching his dream playing for a top-flight club. But did you know he grew up an Amakhosi supporter?

The 20-year-old, who formed part of Chiefs’ youth academy at the age of 16, first grabbed the attention of the Soweto giants because of his impressive displays during the 2015 Varsity Football campaign.

As such, he was brought back to Naturena last November, and has since worked his way into training with Steve Komphela’s first team on a trial basis.

What makes Petersen’s story all the more interesting is that he grew up supporting the Glamour Boys throughout his whole life.

His brother, Brice Petersen, confirmed to Fan Park’s editor Rossella Marrai-Ricco about his family’s love for Kaizer Chiefs.

“Yes, growing up our family were strong Chiefs fans. I don’t think we missed a game when they played in Kwa-Zulu Natal,” says Brice.

With Riyaad Pieterse having left Chiefs for SuperSport United, and with Itumeleng Khune’s recurring injuries a concern, Komphela will require a reliable back up to put between the posts…

Who better than someone who supports and adores the club? Have you seen Petersen in action?Below is a picture of Brylon in an Amakhosi jersey.
