Ahly are currently the club most interested in landing the former Ajax Cape Town man, however it appears that the two clubs are still quite far apart in terms of what would be deemed an acceptable offer.
As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, Siya source have revealed that, while Ahly are willing to pay around €1.2 million (±R17.8m) for Billiat, Sundowns are looking for a figure closer to €2.5 million (±R37.2m) if they are going to let him leave.
Given his importance to Pitso Mosimane’s side – he scored 12 league goals last season – and the added possibility of Keagan Dolly’s buy-out clause being matched by Olympiacos, it is thought that Sundowns will fight tooth and nail to make sure that Billiat remains at the club.
The Siya crew will continue to keep tabs on Billiat’s situation in the coming weeks as the transfer window draws to a close.
