Tendai Ndoro refused to be drawn into a debate

Tendai Ndoro has refused to be drawn into a debate about the number of goals he is planning to score for Orlando Pirates this season, although he is not ruling out a possibility of netting them more regularly this season.

Despite setting the pace by scoring three goals in one game played by Pirates in the league so far this season, the Zimbabwean says he hasn’t set himself a target for the number of goals he wants to score.

While some football pundits have predicted that the on-form Bucs striker could surpass the 20-goal mark, Ndoro has redirected the focus to the team instead of himself.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma in his interview this week, the former Mpumalanga Black Aces man had the following to say about the 20-goal mark predictions, “It would be a good thing to reach that milestone, but I don’t want to put myself under pressure. All I want to do is go out there and play. Targets are sometimes there, but you still need to work. I can say I want to score 20 and then I score 30, or I can say I want to score 20 and then I score 10. That’s football. I’m not that kind of person who wants to set targets. As long as Pirates is winning cups, I’m okay with that.”
