Ex-Chiefs Man Caught In Betting Scandal
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Knowledge Musona, could be in hot water in Belgium after it was revealed that he has been caught betting on his own games.
The 26-year-old Zimbabwean has been on fire for his side, KV Oostende, this season, scoring five goals in nine games as they moved up to eighth place on the league table, but he now finds himself in trouble with the league.
According to Sporza.be, Musona is one of several players who have been questioned by the Belgian Gambling Commission, and it is being reported that he has admitted to betting on games, being completely open to his actions.
It is possible that the former Amakhosi man could face a hefty fine and possibly criminal charges depending on the findings of the commission, and it remains to be seen whether he will feature against Sint-Truidense on Friday night with everything going on.
Norwich City striker, Kyle Lafferty, was fined £23,000 (R400,000) last month and warned about his future conduct after he too was caught betting on games – something that is illegal for footballers.
