Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says Orlando Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza has been in constant contact with him regarding winning the CAF Champions League.

Sundowns have one hand on the trophy after thumping Egyptian giants Zamalek 3-0 in the first leg of the final at Lucas Moripe Stadium this past weekend.

Downs will look to get the job done at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Sunday night.

Pirates are the only South African side to have won the competition, beating ASEC Mimosa 3-2 on aggregate in the 1995 final.

“I don’t want to talk about the chairman of Orlando Pirates. He has been there with me, calling me all the time, speaking to me direct to say we need to put the country on a different map,” says

Meanwhile, Mosimane put aside his differences with Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba by inviting him to the dressing room after Sundowns’ victory in Atteridgeville on Saturday.

Their relationship recently took strain after ‘Jingles’ expressed hope that Mashaba would rest some of his Bafana players from international duty given Downs’ CAF ambitions.

“‘Bra Shakes’, I brought him to the dressing room. He got a chance to speak to the boys. He congratulated us. We invited him to come with us to Alexandria, it’s important.”
