Kaizer Chiefs could secure the signature of their Italian trialist on a free, should the player impress the head coach and his technical team.
Venezuelan-born, Gustavo Paez was announced as one of the four foreign players who are currently on trial at Naturena.
Amakhosi confirmed the news on their official website last week, “Four players will be on trial during this period. Striker Gustavo Paez (26) from Italy and defender Pedro Henrique Dias DeAmorim (24) from Brazil. Defenders Miracle Gabeya (20) and Ismael Olivier Toure (19) are respectively from Malawi and Ivory Coast.”
Paez is currently a free agent, and should he impress Steve Komphela and his technical team, the club could land the player on a free, bolstering their attacking department for the second-half of their 2016/17 campaign.
In the last six months, Paez scored nine goals in all competitions for his former club, Estudiantes de Mérida in Venezuela.
As reported on Soccer Laduma last week, Chiefs only have two available foreign-quota spots, and it remains to be seen which, if any, of their foreign trialist will be added to the Glamour Boys’ set-up in the coming weeks.
