Kaizer Chiefs are ranked one place higher than Mamelodi Sundowns on the top African clubs ranking list, according to the FootballDatabase system.
The Siya crew reported last year, December 31st, that Sundowns were ranked at 11th place, while the Soweto giants followed in 14th position.
Now, according to the latest statistics on Footballdatabase, Amakhosi are placed at 13th on the top African clubs ranking system, with Masandawana behind at 14th and Bidvest Wits at 19th.
With the new year underway, both Chiefs and the Brazilians will look to challenge for more domestic silverware up for grabs, such as the 2016/17 Absa Premiership title and the Nedbank Cup.
However, the Chloorkop-based club will be involved in more African competitions, as they look to secure the 2017 CAF Super Cup and defend their CAF Champions League title.
