Bucs Star Opens Attempted Murder Case

Orlando Pirates star Thabo Matlaba has opened a case of attempted murder, as confirmed to the Siya crew by the South African Police Service.

Reports in local media have indicated that the Pirates and Bafana Bafana defender had been involved in a shooting incident in Tembisa.

It has been reported that the Tembisa-born player allegedly got into an argument which ended in a shooting incident that resulted in someone going to hospital.

Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesman Captain Mofana Masela has confirmed to the Siya crew that Matlaba opened a case, following the incident.

“I can confirm that Thabo Matlaba opened a case about attempted murder. The matter is still under investigation. The incident happened last Saturday (early hours of Sunday) in the morning at 04h00. There was shooting of somebody. Both Matlaba and the other person opened cases of attempted murder at Rabie Ridge Police Station. It’s alleged that somebody came and just started shooting. It’s alleged that Matlaba’s car and some Toyota Corolla belonging to another person were shot at. No arrests have been made and both cases are under investigation,” said Masela.
