Zamalek Confirm Billiat Khama might leave Sundowns to join them soon

According to reports in Zimbabwe, Zamalek President, Mortada Mansour, has confirmed that they are in talks to try and sign Mamelodi Sundowns’ Khama Billiat.
Billiat had a stellar 2016 as he helped guide Masandawana to domestic and continental glory in the Absa Premiership and CAF Champions League, while he also went on to represent his country at the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
The Siya crew reported recently that Sundowns were in talks with the player regarding a new contract – as his current deal expires next year – but that the attacker was undecided about whether or not he wants to commit long-term at this stage.
Now there seems to be another aspect in play, with NewsDay reporting that Zamalek’s head honcho has confirmed their interest in the reigning Absa Premiership Footballer of the Season, suggesting that there are already talks going on behind the scenes.
Mansour reportedly told the media, “We received an offer concerning Billiat, but our decision to hire him depends on the opinion of team’s coach, Mohamed Helmi.”
The crew have been informed that, despite the reports, Zamalek’s interest has gone no further than a simple enquiry at this stage, but they have been known to splash the cash in the past and a move cannot be ruled out.
Billiat hasn’t played for Sundowns at all in March due to injury, but the club are expecting him back in action after the current international break comes to an end.
