Komphela: Tactical discipline won us the game

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes that the tactical discipline from his troops was the difference in their victory over Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend.

Amakhosi humbled the Brazilians 2-1 in an entertaining Absa Premiership encounter played at FNB Stadium on Saturday to keep tabs with Cape Town City at the log summit.

The rejuvenated Bernard Parker and an own goal by Bangally Soumahoro gave the Phefeni Glamour Boys all three points while the Pretoria giants grabbed a consolation courtesy of Khama Billiat.

The former Platinum Stars mentor praised his men for keeping the tactical discipline both in attack and defensively without losing shape throughout the game.

Komphela, 49, said that the Soweto giants intend to keep the same momentum afloat without stressing about winning the prestigious league title.

The Kookstad born tactician insisted that he will not be tempted to involve himself in any premature title talk but instead the media must do the talking without him.

Meanwhile, Sundowns are up against Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday evening as they look to break into the top four on the league standings.

Kick off is at 19:30.
