Cape Town City star, Lebohang Manyama, has opened up about him recently being linked to Mamelodi Sundowns, confirming that he has not been in contact with Pitso Mosimane or the club about their interest in the 26-year-old.
Head Coach Mosimane admitted his interest in the City midfielder in March this year, when he told the media at the Premier Soccer League headquarters that it would be nice to have the player at the Chloorkop-based club.
“It would be nice to have him, but he belongs to another club, and you know what happens with Sundowns… When Sundowns wants a player you know the story. We don’t get him or he costs R10m – the same as the PSL title,” Mosimane said at the time.
However, in an exclusive interview in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Manyama revealed that he has not been in contact with Mosimane nor Sundowns about their interest in the player’s services.
“I haven’t spoken to coach Mosimane or anyone at Sundowns about their interest. I respect coach Pitso a lot and he knows it as well. He is experienced enough to know what to do if he wants me to come to his team. He knows what to do and the people he needs to speak to,” Manyama said to Soccer Laduma.
“At the moment, I’m not even thinking about that stuff as I’m a Cape Town City player and, like I said, I’m very happy here which is why I recently renewed my contract. In football, things happen, so you never know,” he added.
