Economic Freedom Front leader Julius Malema has described Western Cape Premier Helen Zille as the “Zuma of the DA”.
Julius Malema has come out to voice his opinion on Helen Zille after the colonialism scandal she was involved in.
The former Democratic Alliance leader was disciplined for her actions by being suspended from all party activities, but Malema thought that wasn’t punishment enough for her.
He has given the DA an ultimatum: either Zille goes or the EFF goes.
If Zille is not removed as premier, the EFF will end its partnership with the DA, and the opposition party may lose the Johannesburg and Tshwane metros.
“We are not going to associate with a party that protects colonialism and apartheid. We are not going to vote with a party that loves individuals more than South Africans,” said Malema.
“We are [close] to withdrawing our votes in those municipalities if you don’t suspend Helen Zille as the premier.”
The EFF leader said the DA was being disrespectful by favoring their former leader. He also questioned how she was suspended from DA activities but not as the premier of the Western Cape.
Malema then went on to describe Zille as the Zuma of the DA.
“The DA allowed Helen Zille to become the Jacob Zuma of the DA. Zille now allows her party to deteriorate like Jacob Zuma is doing.”
“But to allow her party to deteriorate in her name, then she is no different from Jacob Zuma. And she’s compromising the 2019 project of removing the ANC.”
