A source close to Orlando Pirates left-back Patrick Phungwayo has revealed to Phakaaathi that the defender is likely to leave the club in search for regular game time elsewhere next season.
“He has already shared his feelings with the club, they do understand where he stands. Thing is, the club is already working on releasing the names of the players who will be put on the transfer list, so don’t be surprised when you see his name on the list. Boca is a talented left back, but he is not going to get much game time at Pirates, that’s why he has to leave,” said the source.
Meanwhile, rumors coming out of the Pirates camp is that an exodus of players is set take place at the club, with the likes of James Okwuosa, Sello Japhta and Thabiso Kutumela, among others, all said to be on their way out as the club looks to revamp its squad for the new season.
The said players have featured very little (if not at all) in coach Kjell Jonevret’s side since the Swede took over the reins from caretaker coach Augusto Palacios.
