Mhlongo’s Exit Came As A Thief In The Night” – Reader’s Voice

Brighton Mhlongo was the first Orlando Pirates player to depart from Mayfair during this transfer window. Despite being a fan favourite, Mhlongo is now a player of the past for the black and white.

One will miss his character, as he came close to meeting the gap left by Meyiwa, however, things went wrong when he first conceded six goals in one match, even though he was not the only one to blame.

Now that Mhlongo is no more at the Buccaneers, the fans had mixed reactions, knowing that he was growing and was close to being regarded as a new rival for Itumeleng Khune of Kaizer Chiefs.

Furthermore, at some stage, his brilliance even handed him a Bafana call-up, but it’s unfortunate to see that his exit came as a thief in the night. Now, he will need to first settle in at Nelson Mandela Bay with Chippa United before he can be guaranteed another Bafana call-up.
