The deal was concluded this afternoon

While Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs may have agreed a transfer fee regarding George Lebese, the move is yet to be finalised at this point.
Both clubs confirmed the 28-year-old’s move this afternoon, after they finalised an undisclosed fee for the Mamelodi-born attacker, while Bobby Motaung sent his well wishes to the long-term servant of the Amakhosi. Sundowns, however, then deleted both their tweet and web post confirming his arrival.
Motaung told the club’s official website, “The deal was concluded this afternoon… We’ve seen Lebese grow with us and we released him at his request. We are happy that the negotiations went well and an agreement has been reached with Sundowns.
“Kaizer Chiefs do not stand in the way when the players express their desire to leave. It’s our policy. We thank Lebese for his contribution to the success of the team and wish him all of the best in his future endeavours.”
However, the deal isn’t over the line just yet, and Lebese’s agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, says that he’s looking to get things finalised as soon as possible.
He told the Siya crew, “We knew the clubs were talking and I’m glad that they’ve agreed terms for the transfer. Now we just have to finalise personal terms on the contract. I hope it can all be done swiftly.
“Naturena has been George’s home for nine years, and he’s enjoyed a wonderful stay there with Kaizer Chiefs, but he’s now really looking forward to a new chapter in his life.”
Lebese is expected to complete his move this week before Friday’s CAF Champions League deadline.
