Official: Castro To Join Chiefs In January

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that Mamelodi Sundowns striker Leonardo Castro will join the Soweto giants in January.

The 28-year-old has only made three appearances for the Brazilians this season, while he last scored a league goal in the 2015-2016 campaign.

The club have now confirmed that they finalised a deal with Sundowns for the services of the Colombian striker.
The Colombian striker joined Sundowns in the 2015-2016 campaign and has won the CAF Champions League, CAF Super Cup, the Absa Premiership and the Telkom Knockout.

Leonardo Castro’s move to Kaizer Chiefs could open the door for a Bolivian striker to join Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sundowns confirmed that Castro will be joining the Soweto giants in January once the transfer window opens.

With the Colombian leaving, the will be one foreign quota spot available in the Sundowns squad.

Soccer Laduma reported in November that Sundowns looked to approach Club Jorge Wilstermann for Gilber Alvarez.

It has now been indicated to the Siya crew that the Brazilians are expected to set up their pursuit for the Bolivian striker.
