Pitso: ‘Castro probably gave all our secrets to Chiefs’

Cape Town – Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Hlompho Kekana believes his side have to be watchful of former team-mate Leonardo Castro‘s threat ahead of Saturday evening’s Absa Premiership clash with Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium.

It is expected to be a mouth-watering affair as the result could have a big say in the outcome of the Premiership title race. Sundowns are top of the table with 34 points while the Glamour Boys are in third on 29 points.

Nonetheless, Kekana takes the view that the league-leaders have it all to prove against Castro and company as Chiefs have won the last two matches between the two sides.

He said: “When you play against Chiefs, you have to concentrate for the full 90 minutes. They won the last two games against us, so you can’t just go there [to FNB] and try to be smart. You have to be very cautious.”

“As players, we are much aware of Chiefs’ threat, especially with Castro. “The Colombian forward left Chloorkop for Naturena in what was one of the biggest moves of the local transfer window. He recently made his debut and scored in the 2-1 victory over Baroka.

Masandawana coach Pitso Mosimane also claimed that he was sure Castro would help his new team win in any way possible to do the double over his side.

“Leo knows all our secrets, he travels with a booklet. He probably gave it to Steve,” Mosimane said. Before attempting to play some mind-games with his opposite number, Steve Komphela by suggesting that new arrival Jeremy Brockie wouldn’t start.

“Itu you can rest, Brockie may not start. We did not bring him to put us on top. He found us there. We brought him for the Champions League. Brockie can help us in the continent.”

Kick-off is at 20:15.
