Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a transfer bombshell – by hinting he could LEAVE Real Madrid this summer.
The Portuguese forward made the shock comments just minutes after Real secured their third consecutive Champions League crown with a 3-1 victory over Liverpool.
Speaking to BeIN Sport and Antena 3 reporters, he said: “Now to enjoy, and in the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that they are on my side, it was very nice to be in Madrid.”
When quizzed on his answer, he claimed that a definitive answer is coming in the next week.
“In the next few days I will give an answer, now we have to enjoy the moment, the future of any player is not important, we have made history,” he said.
“Enjoy the moment, the team, the future of the players is not important, in the next few days I will speak.
“I have no doubts, it’s not important, you have to rest, go to the national team and in the next few weeks.”
Asked if he was disappointed not to score in the final, with Gareth Bale taking the headlines for his overhead kick, he said: “Who? Maybe the Champions League should change its name to the CR7 Champions League.
“Who has more Champions and more goals?”
Real captain Sergio Ramos has immediately hit back at Ronaldo’s comments and says that the words need to be clarified immediately.
He claims that there is no reason for Ronaldo to quit the Bernabeu this summer.
“I suppose he will have been speaking about a summary of the season,” Ramos said when asked about Ronaldo
“If there is something there, he must clarify it today.
“He is a key piece for us.
“He could not be in a better place.”
Meanwhile, Bale has also hinted that he is also poised for the Bernabeu exit this summer.
Speaking to BT Sport after his side’s win, Bale made no secret of his disappointment at his lack of game time this season.
“Obviously I was very disappointed not to start the game, I felt I deserved it but the manager makes the decisions,” the forward said.
“The best I have been doing is to come on and make an impact, I certainly did.
“It has to be the best goal in a Champions League final, there is no bigger stage. I am just happy to get the win.
“It is a team game but when you are a substitute, it is a game of more than 11 players. I made an impact.
“We know what we have achieved and how good we have been. The league was disappointing but we won the Champions League. It turns out to be a great season.
“We let everyone else speak. We know how hungry we are in the changing room, how prepared and motivated we are.”
Asked about his future: “I need to be playing week in, week out and that has not happened this season. I had an injury five, six weeks in but fit ever since. I have to sit down with my agent in the summer and discuss it.”
