Khama Billiat news
Cape Town – Lebogang Manyama is delighted to have reunited with Khama Billiat at Kaizer Chiefs and believes the Zimbabwean is the most talented player in the Amakhosi squad.
The pair started their Absa Premiership career at Ajax Cape Town and have this season reunited at Naturena having joined the Soweto giants in the off-season.
Billiat has been impressive in his early days at Chiefs and has five goals after ten games while Manyama recently made his debut in the 4-1 win over former club Cape Town City.

Kaizer Chiefs’ most famous 11 backs Khama Billiat to ‘do wonders’
Khama Billiat has received the best endorsement a player can wish for following his move to Kaizer Chiefs from Mamelodi Sundowns. The Zimbabwean superstar has been handed the number 11 jersey at Amakhosi, and the man who made it the club’s most famous approves.
“I would have also given it (the jersey) to him because I know he will do it justice,” said Chiefs legend Teenage Dladla who wore the jersey in the 80s. “Khama is something special, he is a very good player.”
Ironically now working for Sundowns, Dladla believes that Billiat is far from over the hill as some clearly bitter fans of his former club have been suggesting since his move from Chloorkop to Naturena.

South Africa have always unearthed technically sound players, and it could be down to the fact that many footballers in the country learn their skills in the streets as youngsters long before being moulded at club level.
Today the Fan Park crew will now take a look at some of the most technically gifted players in the Premier Soccer League.
One of Manyisa’s most outstanding qualities is his stamina and passing. These qualities are boosted by his brilliant touch and technique. Ace always seems to make the extra touch work for him and this has made him a huge favourite amongst the supporters.
Where Dolly lacks in height, he excels in technique. When on song, Keagz can be seen floating about the pitch looking to thread a killer through ball after a clever shibobo. As the PSL Young Player of the Year, Dolly is sure to be a name we will see more of in the future.
Arguably one of the most technically talented players in the country at present, Vila has wowed crowds everywhere he goes. He also possesses the ability to drift past opposition players with consummate ease, and has good finishing ability in front of goal.
Billiat gets a mention in this regard because of his ability to run with the ball at speed. Like Dolly, Billiat was moulded by the Ajax Cape Town youth academy and they seemed to have done a great job with the Mamelodi Sundowns star.
Ajax Cape Town assessing player described as the ‘new Khama Billiat’
Ajax Cape Town are assessing Zimbabwe forward Clive Rupiya‚ a player described as the ‘new Khama Billiat’ as they begin their rebuilding job for the new season.
The 19-year-old‚ who plays for Bulawayo City in his homeland‚ has already spent time at Ikamva this month and is due to return when the club resumes training after another short break in the coming days.
“The trials were OK but we didn’t do much.
“The coach [Muhsin Ertugral] managed to assess what he wanted and I feel my chances of getting a contract are high‚” he told reporters.
The players’ manager Calvin Nyazema said the youngster would be keen on the move‚ even if it meant playing National First Division football next season.
“Mushin is a good but tough coach‚ asking him to come back is a good sign. The coach liked what he saw initially‚ so he wants more time with the boy‚” he told The Herald.
“The Ajax concept‚ set-up and the coach haven’t changed and I believe they will be fighting to come right back up. It would be nice for him to be a part of that fight. Look at Highlands Park.”
Mandla Mpofu‚ a former Bulawayo City coach and assistant with the national team‚ said recently he believes the player has the potential to be as good as Billiat.
“I have to compare him with Khama Billiat because he has the potential to reach that level and even do better‚” Mpofu said.
“He is a complete package. He can play with both legs‚ he is very good in the air and is technically gifted. I’m sure this boy will go far if he can keep his head down.”
Rupiya also had trials at Turkish giants Galatasaray last year.
Ajax have recently parted ways with two other Zimbabweans on their books‚ striker Tendai Ndoro and midfielder Gerald Takwara.
