Man Utd transfer news: Paul Pogba to STAY after Jose Mourinho make-up

Paul Pogba

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have Didier Deschamps to thank for convincing Paul Pogba to stick with Jose Mourinho’s side, according to journalist Julien Laurens.

The French midfielder has been constantly linked with moves away from Old Trafford, with Barcelona and Juventus rumoured to be keen.

But it is looking likely he will remain a Manchester United player, as the new season kicks off tomorrow.

And Red Devils fans can thank Pogba’s national coach for it, according to Julien Laurens.

He spoke to ESPN today about the World Cup winners future, where he detailed the 25-year-old now has a new mindset.

He said: “Paul Pogba is happy at Man United, he hasn’t asked to leave or for more money.

“But we knew there was always going to be a lot of noise about him after the World Cup.

“He is happy to be there now – yes he has had issues with Jose Mourinho, but the key moment last season was when he went back home to France and had a long chat with Didier Deschamps.

“The France manager told him to work hard and listen to Mourinho and to not clash with him.

“And I think what happened at the World Cup put Pogba in a very strong position.

“Deschamps showed if you use him in the right way if you talk to him and put him in the right environment he can be a very good player.”

United have brought in Diogo Dalot, Lee Grant and Fred during this summer’s window.
