Kaizer Chief recently announced that new signing Adriamirado “Dax” Adrianarimanana has been cleared to play for the Soweto giants. Did you see how fans reacted to the news?
The 27-year-old received his clearance to play for the club this week after Chiefs revealed why it took a considerable amount of time to sort out the issue.
Amakhosi explained that Adrianarimanana former club, Fosa Juniors FC, had laid a complaint to the FIFA Players’ Status Committee, claiming that Chiefs had not contacted the club for the player’s services.
Nonetheless, the committee has now granted Dax his clearance, and the Glamourr Boys have revealed he will be wearing the No. 6 jersey.
The 27-year-old was confirmed by the Glamour Boys in June alongside Khama Billiat after he won the Player of the Tournament award at the COSAFA Cup, however, there were difficulties regarding his move from Fosa Juniors that meant his arrival was postponed.
Now though, with ‘Dax’ having touched down in South Africa this week, he will be looking forward to getting to know his new Amakhosi teammates before making his debut for the club in the not-so-distant future.
He told the club’s official website, “I am glad to be in South Africa”, praising the Amakhosi’s training base in Naturena, saying, “This is a truly amazing place.”
Chiefs’ social media page also quoted him as saying, “I am very happy to be here. I have been following Kaizer Chiefs closely on Facebook during the last few weeks.”
Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys’ football manager, Bobby Motaung, spoke of his delight at his arrival, telling kaizerchiefs.com, “We have been working hard to ensure that the player comes to South Africa. We now have to work on finalising all his paperwork and medicals but what’s important for us and the supporters is that he is here.”
It remains to be seen how long it will take the attacker to get his South African work permit, therefore he will face a wait before he can don the famous gold and black for the first time.
