Salah Overtakes Messi : African superstar Mohamed Salah has overtaken Lionel Messi and closed in on Cristiano Ronaldo in a UEFA Champions League goalscoring chart.

The 2017 CAF African Footballer of the Year scored his first two goals of the current UCL campaign in the third gameweek of the 2018/19 season.
In doing so, he has now netted more UCL goals than Messi since the beginning of the previous campaign, with the Argentine not being able to add to the five he has already scored this season after picking up an injury.
Salah Overtakes Messi
Only former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has now scored more goals in Europe’s elite competition since the beginning of last season. The Portuguese forward leads the ranking with 15 strikes – all scored in 2017/18 for Real, while he is yet to score his first UCL goal for Juventus.
Salah follows in joint-second place alongside AS Roma’s Edin Dzeko, with both having netted 13 times since the start of 2017/18.
Roberto Firmino has scored 12 UCL goals over the same period, while Messi sits on 11 strikes.
