“You must remember that any club, they are a team before any individual,” the respected analyst tells KickOff.com.

“Yes he conceded that number of goals against Celtic, but was it his fault? You can’t judge the goalkeeper separately from the rest of the team.

“My view is that I don’t think it’s a Khune issue. Remember Khune has played what, four seasons? No cup. So why would you suddenly now expect that Khune would be the answer when Khune has had four seasons with no answer to this problem?

“It’s a team problem, not a Khune problem. And I’m not saying Khune was bad during those seasons, Khune was still the best. Khune was still saving them… there was a season, I think two seasons back, he won the goalkeeper of the season without Chiefs winning anything.

“So what I’m saying is, even with Khune at his best Chiefs didn’t win. So it’s not a goalkeeper problem, it’s a team problem. I still feel Chiefs as a team they’ve got a tactical problem whereby they can’t react after losing ball possession.

“As a result Akpeyi finds himself having to deal with so many difficult situations. And whereby now the fans tend to shift the blame to him as an individual.

“Whether Chiefs wins or loses… that’s the other thing, they haven’t lost the league. Yes it doesn’t look good, that we must add. But they haven’t lost the league.”

  1. This is the challenge the coach is going to get , the best thing is to let him make decisions

  2. I don’t get why fans should shift the blame on him and by the way Chiefs is still the best team in mzansi.
