Any player would prefer a club where he will be given time to play no mater how much money can a club pay a player , money is not the only reason why players join clubs . Some people would say that as long as they pay him well , guess what ? players themselves don’t see things that way, they want game-time .

In most cases when a club bench you for a very long period of time , chances are high that they might sell you anytime soon.

Let us say that Khune would like to stay at Kaizer Chiefs and he is happy with everything at the club . Can Kaizer Chiefs sell him ?

Ali Morrison, Lifelong Rangers fan from Quora answer it like this .

“At the end of the day they can’t physically force a player to sign for another club. However there a number of ways that a club can try and convince the player to move elsewhere.”

“These days a player’s agent has an inordinate amount of power over transfers. If a player can move for a fee or wait out his contract and move elsewhere for free, his agent would prefer that there was a transfer fee involved every time. They get a cut of this and they can negotiate the fee and terms.

So a club could perhaps speak to the agent of the player and ask the agent to find a potential suitor and then do the more difficult task of selling that club to the player. Perhaps the parent club could offer the agent a bigger-than-usual cut of the deal, in which case any agent in their right mind will do whatever they can to shift the player and earn their wedge.”

“The agent may not particularly care what the outcome is for the player, as long as they get their cut of the deal.

Football is a business, needless to say as these days it is so apparent. Shady deals and coercion using under-the-table and back-handed tactics are without doubt commonplace in today’s game. This is how players can be herded around like cattle against their own better judgment.”
