Kaizer Chiefs is a very weak team. This season is going to be a very difficult one for Kaizer Chiefs because nothing is going well for them. They started the season without Samir Nurkovic and when he came back Khama Billiat got injured and you know there is no replacement for Khama at Chiefs. Kaizer Chiefs did not lose yesterday’s game just because Orlando Pirates is a very strong team. The fact is even small teams these days do not respect Chiefs just because they know Chiefs is weak and it might take two years for them to regain their power.
Itumeleng Khune’s life is not that easy
“Tough game, first half I think they were the better team. Second half we have the goal and then we played more on the counter-attack. I think we also had opportunities to score earlier,” Zinnbauer told SuperSport.
“I have to see the pictures, but I think, penalties not one I think in the first half also. But the biggest thing for me was close to the end in the first half with Makaringe and Lorch completely alone.
“I think they make the second goal then the game is close to finish for us in the second half. But now you see Kaizer Chiefs have the quality especially with long high balls in the box and the crosses.
“Always crossing, crossing, crossing it is not easy to defend but compliments keeper Richard [Ofori] made a good game.
“The defensive lines also, it’s not easy against these guys. Lorch is man of the match. I think it was a top game in offence and defence. I think in the channel you have a team effort today and deserved the three points,” he added.
Lorch comments about the game
“Firstly I’d like to thank the man above for the talent he has given me, I promised that I will honour it,” Lorch told SuperSport after the game.
“I’ve been playing as a number nine, I’ve been playing as a number nine since the game against Maritzburg [United] so the coach told me I have to play there because we don’t have strikers and I had to do the job.
“We’ve been practicing it to play the ball on top because we know that defensively they’re slow, so ja that how it [the goal] came,” he added.
Gavin Hunt comments
“Ja, we played well, we should have won the game quite comfortably, what more do you want me to say? That’s it. I thought we did well,” Hunt told SuperSport TV after the match.
“The chances they cleared off the line, I don’t know how many they cleared off the line, so we did well you know. That’s it. I can’t fault the players.
“That’s pretty basic in football [to take chances] but you also have to defend better. I thought the second goal was poor from our side, there’s only one winner here, we should have won the game,” he said.
“But you’re chasing the game, the second goal goes in and it looks bad but we had chances to even make it 2-2, so ja disappointing.
“There’s a lot of things I can’t say it, let’s talk football but we had more than enough chances. In the first-half we should have been 2-0, 3-0 [up], it’s the same as the cup game, Khama [Billiat] and [Leonardo] Castro should have scored, we would have been 2-0 up before they even scored a goal, then it’s two away goals, it’s a different ball game and you end up losing,” he went on.
“It’s the same [as] today, I mean the goal that we missed there I don’t know what happened, Castro, [Samir ] Nurkovic went through before they even looked like scoring. So that was disappointing from our side but I knew we had to score first and we didn’t,” Hunt added.
