Junior Khanye in fear after receiving death threats.
Junior Khanye in fear after receiving death threats. Some people are upset about Junior Khanye’s comments about Kaizer Chiefs and some believe he is a heater of Amakhosi.
“I was very upset yesterday (Monday) after I received a call on my way to work with Robert Marawa from a guy who identified himself as Thato who just started threatening me. He told me that I should stop talking bad about Chiefs or they (the caller and his people) will kill me. He said they will hunt me for 24 hours and will kidnap me if I continue. I was shocked! All I can say is that I respect him like everyone, but I am not scared. I will pray for him. Such things don’t scare me and won’t make me stop praying. People don’t want the truth and the guy is hurt because what I said became a reality. I feel that I should talk about this and let people know about it. Yes, I don’t have a problem in talking about football, but it’s people like that guy who make me upset and I’m going to open a case. But I will first talk to God and my ancestors and ask for guidance, because I am a guy who asks for guidance before doing things,” Khanye told the Siya crew.
“I am not going to sit back and watch while someone has made such threats, I will open a case with the police, and I am getting a legal advice from my lawyers. I asked the guy on the phone what exactly was he talking about when he said I spoke bad about Chiefs, because I didn’t know what he was referring to. All I said (about Chiefs) was that they wouldn’t win the league with the way they were playing, and they didn’t. What the guy needs to understand is that I am an analyst and I work like any other person and I say things the way I see them because I watch football and I love the game,” he added.
“Also, I don’t analyse only about Chiefs but about the other teams as well. I watch football irrespective of who is playing, whether in the PSL, NFD, ABC Motsepe League or overseas. I follow the game. It’s just that most of the time I get asked about Chiefs and I’m not sure why, maybe it’s because I grew up at the club in the development and played for the first team. I am a family man and have children and I won’t live like this, with people threatening to kill me, and I have to do something about it,” he said.
What do you think Junior should do?
