5 reasons why Kaizer Chiefs have struggled in recent times
#1: Management Issues
The management and owners of Kaizer Chiefs have drawn a lot of criticism and flak for the way the club has been managed. The club’s owners, the Motaung Family is largely blamed for the rising problems of Kaizer Chiefs.
The Motaungs have also been criticised on numerous occasions for their apparent refusal to infuse money for signing top talents, especially in today’s inflated player market.
2: Management Issues
Right from the appointment of managers to signings done under them, Kaizer Chief’s’s lack of a long term vision has been all too apparent. Too many player signings, especially that of marquee players, have failed and in spite of splashing the cash, Kaizer Chiefs have not reaped the rewards that they should have.
#3: Transfer Ban
This is a very major issue which is going even to affect Gavin Hunt’s CV as a coach because it is going to be difficult for him to win a trophy without new players. Hunt is a great coach but he has no good players and he cannot sign no new players. The issue is out of his hands.
#4: Poor transfer decisions
The list of poor transfer decisions at Kaizer Chiefs since Stuart Baxter left Amakhosi is a long one. We are not here to point fingers at players but we know that there are players which were signed but they are not Kaizer Chiefs standard.
#5: Changing of coaches
This is something super important look how many years Pitso Mosimane worked at Mamelodi Sundowns and also look at what he achieved. We understand that also Pitso struggled a bit before he discovered the magic but by the end of the day all worked out. Chiefs must learn that a coach needs time to perform well.
