The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) is advising beneficiaries to take note of modifications made to the payment schedule for September 2023.
Sassa emphasizes the importance of patience among beneficiaries, urging them not to rush to withdraw their funds as the money will remain accessible until they are ready to make withdrawals.
The agency states, “Clients who may not be able to withdraw their funds during the initial days of payment need not worry or feel pressured to rush for withdrawals.”
The processing of Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) payments (R350 grants) for approved individuals for September will take place from September 22nd to September 29th.

During this week, clients are encouraged to check their payment status on the SRD website to determine the exact date when the payment will be reflected in their bank accounts.
Sassa advises that it may take up to 3-4 working days for funds to appear in the client’s account after the payment has been processed.
It’s worth noting that payments for August are already in the process of being issued and will continue until Thursday, August 31st.
