American Concerns Lean Towards Trump Charges Over Hunter Biden Allegations.
In spite of the Republican Party’s persistent attempts to minimize the political consequences of the four criminal indictments against former President Donald Trump, the latest Yahoo News/YouGov poll reveals a shifting sentiment among Americans. This survey, conducted from August 17 to 21 and involving 1,665 U.S. adults, indicates that an increasing number of respondents view the Trump family as more “corrupt” compared to President Biden and his family.

The poll reveals a noteworthy 10-point gap, with 46% of participants considering the Trumps as more corrupt, while 36% believe the Bidens are more corrupt. To provide context, in October 2022, the margin between the two families was 7 points, with 42% siding with the Trumps and 35% with the Bidens.
In another notable shift, a majority of Americans (53%) now perceive Trump and his family as corrupt, while only 28% hold the opposite view. Since October, this disparity has widened from 18 to 25 points, making it more than twice as significant as the 11-point difference between those who perceive the Bidens as corrupt (45%) and those who do not (34%).
These statistics do not bode well for either family’s reputation. Since the last Yahoo News/YouGov poll in October, Trump has faced a barrage of 91 felony charges, encompassing offenses such as hush money payments, racketeering, election interference, and the mishandling of classified documents. Concurrently, Hunter Biden’s legal situation has grown more complicated, as he recently witnessed the collapse of a deal that could have allowed him to avoid prison by pleading guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and participating in a diversion program for a gun-related charge. Both men remain under investigation by a special counsel.
Furthermore, with the Republicans taking control of the House of Representatives in January, they initiated their inquiry aimed at substantiating claims that Hunter Biden received favorable treatment from federal prosecutors who were allegedly under pressure to shield the president. Republicans contend that this is part of a protracted scheme to exploit his position for personal gain through his son’s questionable dealings.
