DSTV Premiership Starting Xi : Mamelodi Sundowns v Kaizer Chiefs. Both of these teams are big but Chiefs just declined in performance ever since Gavin Hunt took over but still that should not mean that they can’t win this game.

“Chiefs are still a very big club; they deserve a lot of respect. The fixture between Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs is always one that is highly-anticipated and, of course, brings a lot of attention because of the magnitude of both clubs,” Mokwena told Sundowns media.

“But the reality is that because it is Kaizer Chiefs, you have to be very sober-minded when you do your analysis and not derive anything from their log position and their unfortunate result against Cape Town City.

“They’re a good team, a big team, Chiefs, we have a lot of respect for them with a very good coach in Gavin Hunt – he is experienced, he knows what he is doing, and he needs a little bit more time. But a very good coach who has a lot of experience. He is someone I have great admiration and huge respect for.”

Khune’s comments

“We are not in a good position at the moment,” Khune said.

“But we are a big club, and it has to show that we want to get into the top 8 and to do that we need to start collecting points, and that starts against Sundowns.

“We are ready and have rolled up our sleeves, and it is going to be important that we make Chiefs fans proud of their team and their players. We must just go out there and fight.

“Sundowns has been doing very well but at this stage we are focusing on ourselves, our game plan and how we can take advantage of the opportunities that we create. We are going to have to dig deep for the results and fight until the end.

“We are not allow them space and not allow them to take advantage of the fact that we just lost our previous game against Cape Town City.”

Khune said that Chiefs really have to dig deeper
