Khama Billiat and Itumeleng Khune are benched for a reason
The team lost some crucial games and Amakhosi fans are very annoyed to see some of their trusted players not playing , at least if the team was winning all their games it would have be okay with them. When Mr Ernst Middendorp was asked about some players he defended his way of selecting the team.

“We must be honest, we have COVID-19 times and if a player, whoever it is, has been unlucky and is tested (positive) then he is out for two weeks then another week,” Middendorp told the media.
“Everybody can believe that we really going very clear-structured in the technical team. So now, of course, we have to ask why, there is a very clear reason for it – being for three weeks out of the training processes and the preparation time – why we have to set it up and change players?
“There is a reason behind it, it is not because I don’t like this player or I don’t like this player or you’re getting irritated, we have two very important players for us not available today, one on yellow cards and the other is injured and left the bubble. So we are aware of it that a number of players cannot work it out for 90 minutes, believe me, there are clear reasons for it.”

Everyone thought that Khune was going to replace Daniel Akpeyi but surprisingly the coach deployed Bruce. But sometimes you might find that players have attitude towards the coach and in that case the caoch will bench you until when you surrender.
