There many reasons why some players will not be offered new contracts and one of them is age. Some players at Kaizer Chiefs are 35 already which means they are a bit old for the club.
Age might be the main factor, but also performance should be considered crucial. Even if the player is old but also long as he can score goals the team would not mind to keep him. For example Ibrahimvich is almost 40 years, but he is still relevant and better than a lot of young players, that is why Sweden called him back after 5 years in retirement.
