Ferguson : One of Manchester United’s most influential captains of all time has hit out at former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, insisting that he refuses to forgive him for their famous fallout.
Despite being one of the club’s most successful leaders during his time at Old Trafford, Roy Keane and Ferguson had a huge spat that led to his exit in 2005.
The Scottish boss was unhappy with Keane when he took to MUTV to criticise a number of his United teammates. This resulted in showdown talks between the player and manager, where matters worsened.
Several former players have spoken about the incident, as has Keane, who has addressed his fallout with Ferguson once again, admitting he still refuses to pardon what happened.
“I wouldn’t forgive Ferguson. The media spin, how I apparently upset everybody, it was all nonsense,” Keane told Off The Ball.
“I don’t care if it’s Alex Ferguson or the Pope, you’re going to defend yourself.
“People talk about Ferguson’s man-management. Nonsense.
“People said he always had the best interests of Manchester United at heart. Darren Ferguson (his son) won a medal. He was very lucky.”
Keane represented United on 464 occasions, winning 17 trophies along the way.
