A Chinese company, Xuanyuan Group Industrial Development, has unveiled plans to invest over $100 million in establishing a new industrial park in Russia’s Far Eastern Amur Region. This initiative, announced during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, involves a declaration of intent with the Amur Region Investment Attraction Agency.

Under this agreement, Xuanyuan Group will channel up to 10 billion rubles ($102 million) into the industrial park’s development. This park is expected to generate more than 400 job opportunities in the region while focusing on the production of smart technology, including robots, 3D printers, drones, wind turbine components, and advanced equipment for storing and transporting liquefied natural gas and helium.

The project encompasses the creation of a science and research center, a robotics and 3D printing production hub, smart warehousing facilities, and associated engineering infrastructure. Xuanyuan Group has highlighted its robust research and development team, along with established collaborations with leading Chinese technological institutes, as key assets that will facilitate its work on the industrial park.

Hailong Xue, CEO of Xuanyuan Group, emphasized the intention to build a groundbreaking industrial complex for intelligent equipment production, underscoring the attractiveness of the Amur region for such endeavors. Additionally, Sergey Khmura, the deputy head of the Amur Region Investment Attraction Agency, stressed that the industrial park would offer equal opportunities for both Russian and Chinese companies. He also highlighted the region’s transformation into a hub for high-tech industries, marking a shift from its prior focus on sectors like mining, timber logging, and agriculture.

The 8th Eastern Economic Forum, occurring from September 10 to 13 in Vladivostok, serves as a critical platform for discussions with businesses regarding the development of Russia’s Far East and the attraction of investments to the region.
